  • The WCB-approved Hurricane jacket and matching bibs — the full kit
  • 5,000mm polyurethane coating on every layer — waterproof, not water-resistant
  • Two-layer nylon throughout: a 420D outer over a 210D inner
  • Unlined and vented — a shell, not an insulator
  • Handcrafted in British Columbia, Canada · 30-day field trial

Why It's Built Different

Two-Layer Shell

A 420D extra-strength nylon outer over a 210D nylon inner — both polyurethane-coated, both keeping water out.

Reinforced Where It Wears

Doubled at the sleeves, shoulders and upper torso — the panels that take the most abuse.

Bib Coverage

The bib cut carries the waterproofing up the torso — no gap where a jacket ends and pants begin.

I originally saw these jackets being used by the BC Hydro crews and management when I was working around Hayward Lake. My old jacket had finally called it quits and I made the decision to invest in this jacket. I can definitely say it was worth it.

Thanks Jacob, we hope you get many years out of your jacket!

My husband says they rock. He works outside in the PNW and usually gets a new pair of cheap bibs every year. Decided to invest in quality this fall and they have not disappointed. Customer service is amazing too. 10/10.

Got this jacket just in time for some heavy late spring rain, it kept me dry and comfortable longer than my old rain gear would have. Doesn’t get caught up very easily while traipsing through thorny blackberry and the like. Very happy with the purchase. I size between L and XL so anyone on the fence could probably get away with the Large IMO

Thank you, Brian! We hope your gear serves you well for many years to come!

Toughest pair of rain pants I've ever owned. I work on the rigging ( logging ) and beat the heck outta them and they hold up to the test of time. They don't like to be near any kind of spark or flame however and my only complaint would be the plastic connectors that you latch to the buttons... I had mine held together for a couple years with black tape but otherwise my legs stayed warm and dry. 🍻

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate it! We have changed the plastic clasps to metal, which are much more robust. When you are ready for a new pair, you wont run into that issue. Cheers!

Just got my gear in and I love it. Have no fear dealing with these guys for the price you cannot beat the quality or the customer service. I had a gentleman personally reach out to me to help size and get the right gear for my needs. On top of everything they did for me I had ordered custome alterations and on their final shipping inspection they realized the coat and pants were the wrong size. Rather than send out the wrong size the emailed me straight away amd shot me a text saying there would be a delay and because of this they sent me both my large and medium sets so thats 2 coats 2 pants and 2 hoods for the price of 1. Outstanding ladies and gentlemen at rainwear pro and thank you. You have a customer for life! Pictures and videos coming soon

Thanks for the kind words Richard, you rock! We hope you get a ton of good use out of your gear.

I have used Hurricane raingear for 15+ years. In the past for logging and now for prospecting. It is light and durable and about the best you can get.

Heh Donald...thanks so much for making time to give us the thumbs up on our product. Have a wonderful Christmas. Respectfully Brian.

I am just starting my career doing forestry layout in Interior BC. I showed up with a pair of Dakota rain pants on my first day and was promptly told that "I would shred them to bits". As such, after returning the Dakotas, I spent ~$20 more to purchase these. They are very tough and very robust/puncture resistant. They are water proof. They keep me comfortable in rain and snow.

That said - do to the nature of my job requiring high exertion, they are too hot at times because they are completely unbreathable (and I run hot). The velcro fly is a god-send, but still relatively difficult to maneuver through. The wide cuffs are good, and it is nice not having to de-boot to don/doff these bibs, however, in snow I am required to tie the cuffs closed with ribbon and/or wear gaitors overtop, otherwise I get snow inside the cuff of my boots. Lastly, the shoulder straps have no device for retaining the excess length of strap, so they just dangle; I think this could be addressed by the manufacturer.

These do meet my expectations and I feel pretty much invincible in inclement weather in these. I am also happy to support a Canadian company. These are far better than anything you can buy off the shelf at a work wear store.

Heh Steve...thanks for making time to provide us with a review. I am so glad that the product performs to your expectations! Have a great holiday. Respectfully, Brian.

Completely waterproof, WCB approved, and more breathable and flexible than any kind of rubber rain gear. 10/10 would buy again.

Heh Jesse....we aim to keep you dry, so am glad we were able to help. Respectfully, Brian

I would give these pants 5 star, the pant are definitely water proof and perfect for my line of work. I gave it 4 stars because of the zipper line, the velcro strip is a little shorter than the length is the zipper line causing a very small opening at the top of the zipper line and the bottom of the zipper line so when im spraying myself clean water does come through.

I have had these pants for 2 weeks and have but them through hell in the bush working as a forester in rain, sleet and snow. So far they are the best rain pants I have owned in 13 year of bush work.

Best rain pants I've owned. Stand up to some very tough conditions in the bush. Now understand why my co workers all have them..

J
Jordan G.

Best rain coat on the market hands down. Don't waste time an money on the other brand . Canswe rain coats last for years .

Ive been spacing in nova scotia for the last 10 years and needed a new set. These pants may be the best rain pant there is. They're as they say "waterproof". They're light, and seem to be durable. I've only worn them a handful of times, so I'm unsure of how long they'll survive.

Richard T.

The pants look great, very good quality. Looking forward to working in them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this jacket lined?
No — it's an unlined two-layer shell. The inner 210D nylon is a second shell layer, not an insulating liner.
Why a bib instead of pants?
The bib carries the waterproof coverage up over your torso, so there's no gap at the waist when you bend or reach.
